Frank Lloyd Wright, Fallingwater, Mill Run, Pennsylvania, 1936-39.
Wright’s Fallingwater was designed and built in the 1930s for the Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The house, which extends over a 30-foot-tall waterfall, was intended as a summer retreat for the family, away from their busy city lives running the Kaufmann Department Store. It has since become an iconic piece of modern architecture, and those of you who are interested in this sphere of the arts might want to have a look at the drawings and plans of the house’s interior and exterior layouts. The ‘south elevation’ is particularly impressive!
